The SMPS-Dallas chapter is forming a study group to prepare candidates for the exam. The study group will meet weekly for six weeks beginning the week of October 24th. The certification exam itself is comprised of 150 multiple choice questions focused on the 6 Domains of Practice established by SMPS:

Study group sessions will be held at a location based on convenience of participants. The study group will meet for 6 weeks, breaking for the fall holidays, with an opportunity to sit for the exam either during Southern Regional Conference in San Antonio or in Dallas in January.
What a way to kick off our 2011 - 2012 SMPS year...50 people attended Thursday evening's networking event, The Power of Ten! We had a great mix of individuals. New members, people interested in joining, board members, and of course, our members all turned out in full force. Huge thanks to Vapiano's for hosting us. Mo, the general manager was great. We covered a lot of important information during the evening. Some of which included our upcoming Education Program: Marketing Research and Planning, this is taking place on October 25th as well as our first Big Program taking place November 15th on Legislative Updates. Also, we want all our SMPS members to be aware and utilize www.MySMPS.org. This is a GREAT resource for members, marketing and business development professionals, to join online and share resources and information, connect with your peers and make building business easier. Click on the link above and there is a short and concise Users Guide on all the good stuff that can come from MySMPS.org. Feel free to holler at any Board Members with any questions you may have about it (our contact information is available under leadership). Also, we discussed our committees, Education, Sponsorship, Membership, etc., and our need for volunteers. We have some really strong, energetic committees and we hope to continue to build onto them through out the year.
